TBMM and Ankara Governments
The article describes the process of the opening of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye in Ankara after the Ottoman Parliament became inoperable following the official occupation of Istanbul. The difficulties of the elections for the last Assembly of Deputies, the non-participation in the elections by the groups that saw their future separate from the Ottoman Empire, and the fact that the assembly started its activities under the supervision of the Entente States were explained. In addition, the Felah-ı Vatan Group, which was established by the MPs who went to Istanbul instead of the Müdafaa-i Hukuk Group advised by Mustafa Kemal Pasha, and the effect of the national movement in Ankara on the emergence of the Misak-ı Milli were explained. In this process, information is given about Mehmet Rifat Efendi, the Mufti of Ankara, who supported Mustafa Kemal Pasha and the Delegation, and his fatwa.The details of the Opening Ceremony of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, the first declaration issued by the Assembly, political groups in the Assembly, the MPs of Ankara and MPs' salaries are discussed. The article also analyzes the first survey conducted in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and presents the thoughts of Ankara's MPs on the future of Türkiye during the national struggle. On the other hand, one of the issues examined in the article is the views of jurists on the nature of the Parliament and the Parliamentary Government System. Other titles in the article are the political amnesties issued by the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the Birth of the National Anthem, which constituted the spirit of the National Struggle, and Foreign Journalists and Representatives in Ankara. At the end of the article, the list of those who took part in the government established during the National Struggle and the government programs are also included.
