TÜBA-Maçka Library / Istanbul

TÜBA-Maçka Library was established in 2005 by Prof. Dr. Engin Bermek, then President of TÜBA, to support research and scientific studies at the Academy. The first collection was established with the donation of the libraries of Prof. Dr. Klaus Tuchelt and Prof. Dr. Ufuk Esin, both of whom are distinguished names in the field of archaeology. In addition, books donated by important scientists such as Prof. Dr. Güven Arsebük, Prof. Dr. Nezahat Baydur, and Prof. Dr. Orhan Ulutin are also in the library collection.

Since the donors are generally from the field of archaeology, TÜBA-Maçka Library has a rich archaeological collection. In addition, a large number of publications on architecture and Mimar Sinan, which were purchased for the establishment of the Institute of Architecture, were also included in the library and made available to readers. Although the library mainly contains publications on archaeology, art, architecture and history, there are also many publications on social sciences, science and health sciences in the collection. There are approximately 11,000 publications, mostly in Turkish and German. Publications are catalogued and classified according to international standards. The appropriate Turkish and English subject headings for each publication are added to the catalogue records and made available to researchers through the Yordam Library Program. All registered publications can be browsed at www.tubakutuphane.gov.tr. All publications needed by readers are provided to our library through donations, exchanges and purchases.

The library serves academy members, project employees, personnel within the institution, undergraduate and postgraduate researchers. Publications can be used in the library and photocopying service is also provided.

Monday-Friday: 08.30-12.30 / 13.30-17.30

The library is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
