International Science Council Convenes at Montenegro
TÜBA President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker and TÜBA Full Member Prof. Dr. Ahmet Nuri Yurdusev attended the 6th ISC Annual Evaluation Meeting of the International Science Council (ISC) for Europe, hosted by The Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts (CANU).
The opening speech of the Review Meeting was delivered by Prof. Dr. Dragan K. Vukčević, President of CANU. More than thirty participants from abroad came together in the program held at CANU's facilities in Podgorica. Representatives of science academies gave information about the scientific work of their academies. On the 2nd day of the meeting, called Science Day, the invited speakers organized thematic sessions on topics such as Challenges of Science in Montenegro, Science and Democracy, Science and Diplomacy. The development and expansion of scientific work and the role of science at the national and global level, especially the challenges it faces, were emphasized.
CANU; On February 27, 2012, the Law on the Montenegrin Academy of Science and Arts was adopted. CANU, an independent institution and the highest national institution established by law, has 39 members and 29 foreign members.
