Kırşehir During the National Struggle

Under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Pasha, Anatolia showed a great resistance against the occupations after World War I. In this resistance, the inner regions that have not yet been occupied made great efforts to organize and support the National Struggle. Kırşehir also became one of the cities that came to the fore in support of the National Struggle. The patriotic people of Kırşehir showed their reaction to the occupations by organizing around Association for Defence of National Rights. In addition, Mustafa Kemal Pasha came to Kırşehir before moving to Ankara, and with the contacts he made here, he personally observed the point of view of the people of the region in favor of the National Struggle. The people of Kırşehir followed the developments during the National Struggle closely, they created public opinion thanks to the protest telegrams they sent to the relevant people after the news of the occupation, while also instilling morale in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye with the congratulatory telegrams they sent after the victory news from the front. In addition, Kırşehir, which showed great benefits in the fields of manpower, backward service, support and supply during the National Struggle and contributed to the process in administrative terms thanks to the representatives it sent to the I. Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.
